Hi! I’m Liz, the owner of A Novel Escape Bookstore, and I am so glad to meet you!

I started my bookseller journey a few years ago by purchasing Millie’s Used Books, which was located on Georgia Road for nearly 15 years. In early 2022, Suzanne (who owned the long-standing Books Unlimited) was ready to retire, so we bought her books and moved to Main Street!

Just a little bit about me – I am a licensed (retired) Veterinarian and practiced for 10 years before letting my inner child take over and buy a bookstore. The first book I can remember loving (although I read constantly from the time I was four) is Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White. My favorite authors right now are Fredrik Backman, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Kristin Hannah, Andy Weir, and N. K. Jemisin. I have the best dog in the whole world – a Golden Retriever named Brody – who you will almost always meet as you enter the store. He is the official store greeter and he takes his job very seriously. I am wife to Bill and mom to Oscar, and I simply adore this little town nestled in the mountains.

I consider it a huge responsibility and a great honor to be able to continue the legacy of community and love that was built by the booksellers before me. Come by to say hi!
